And here we see Creeping Tuesday on stage for the first time. As previously noted, the Creeping family owe an obvious debt to Freddy Kreuger, but they also have something of the movie Dreamscape in their lineage. Although I wasn’t actually concious of the link to the latter until after it got pointed out in a review of the comic. Since I did indeed love that movie as a kid, I’m now sure that it’s rather fun take on dream invasions is somewhere in the mix of Tuesday’s horror DNA.

Panel 1
Joey: I’m sorry! I’m sorry, Ma.
Panel 2
Same shot but slightly closer in, so the focus of the panel is actually the wall behind Joey’s shoulder. There’s a suggestion of a demonic female form starting to take shape, almost as if it’s growing out of the wall of the alley itself.
Joey: I’ll be good. I’ll be a good boy!
Panel 3
Back on the hoard of zombie mothers. They’re all looking down slightly in this panel, as if touched by genuine emotion and unable to look their son in the face during what happens next.
Mother 1: Oh, Joey. It’s too late for that.
Panel 4
Extreme close up of Creeping Tuesday’s mouth whispering into Joey’s ear. She’s standing now, fully materialised directly behind him, although we won’t be able to tell that clearly until the next panel.
Creeping Tuesday: And I’m not your mother.
Panel 5
Big panel. We get a full reveal of Creeping Tuesday in her demonic dream stalker form, as she punches a hand through Joey’s chest from behind and hold’s out his still beating heart in from of him.
SFX: Splurk!
